Yoga helps build groundwork to live a healthy lifestyle in a safe and non-competitive space. It is a perfect complement to busy academic and extracurricular schedules, connecting with others and yourself in a fun and nurturing environment. The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain. Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia. One of the best benefits of yoga is how it helps a person manage stress, which is known to have devastating effects on the body and mind. Stress can reveal itself in many ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches, drug abuse, and an inability to concentrate. Yoga can be very effective in developing coping skills and reaching a more positive outlook on life.

Aerial Yoga helps students discover the freedom of finding stability outside the conventional means of grounding. This class is a nurturing, positive environment to work on skills that encourage enhanced body connection, compassion to self and others, curiosity and body awareness. Students will utilize the aerial silk to explore movement and breath in a safe, fun and creative way. Through the practice, students will strengthen the foundation for body awareness, balance and motor skills that contribute to an overall sense of organization and well-being in the world.
